Since the first days of the seventh art, costume design has been an essential part of the process of filmmaking. What we wear defines our personality and becomes a medium of communicating with others and movies have taken note of that. Whether they are a princess of an intergalactic kingdom, a soldier on the First World War or a teenager going through their first year at high school, costumes help to create a character and an atmosphere.

The worlds of film and fashion have long been connected and as a film student and fervent fashion enthusiast I thought the best way to share my passions was to travel through their many convergences. This blog aims to explore the ways both art forms inspire each other: from the importance of the work of Costume Designers in the production of a film, to documentaries exploring the figure of fashion designers and magazines, or runway collections taking big inspiration in particular movies or filmmakers.
